24 Days Countdown to the Blessed Month of Ramadan

It’s 24 days to the blessed month of Ramadan.

One of the most recommended ways to prepare for Ramadan is to train the body and soul gradually before the month begins. For those who have not yet started fasting consistently, Sunnah fasting offers a gentle and effective way to ease into the discipline of Ramadan.

The Prophet ﷺ regularly fasted on Mondays and Thursdays. When asked about this, he said:

“Deeds are presented to Allah on Mondays and Thursdays, and I love that my deeds be presented while I am fasting.”
Sahih Muslim (2565)

He ﷺ also encouraged fasting on the Ayyām al-Bīḍ (the White Days)—the 13th, 14th, and 15th of every lunar month:

“Fasting three days of every month is like fasting for a lifetime.”
Sahih al-Bukhari

Why This Matters Before Ramadan

Fasting on Mondays, Thursdays, or the White Days helps the body:

  • Adjust gradually to reduced meal frequency
  • Improve self-control and discipline
  • Support metabolic balance and digestive health
  • Prepare mentally and physically for prolonged fasting

By adopting Sunnah fasting before Ramadan, we prepare ourselves without shock to the body, making the transition into Ramadan smoother, healthier, and more spiritually focused.

Action for today:

Start with one or two Sunnah fasts weekly and build consistency—so when Ramadan arrives, your body is ready, and your heart is aligned.
