27 Days Countdown to the Blessed Month of Ramadan

It’s 27 days to the blessed month of Ramadan.

In a fast-paced world that seldom pauses, an early afternoon nap is often seen as indulgent or unproductive. Yet, studies show that short daytime naps offer meaningful benefits for both the body and mind.

Anas ibn Malik reported, “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

“Take a midday nap (qaylūlah), for indeed the Satan (devils) do not take midday naps.”

Al-ʿAllāmah ʿAbd al-Raʾūf al-Manāwī (d. 1031 AH) said:

“The scholars and the righteous predecessors agree that qaylūlah (sleeping after Dhuhr) is a recommended practice because it helps one stand for the night prayer (qiyām al-layl).

Qaylūlah is desirable for the one who intends to pray at night, just as suḥūr helps one to fast during the day. Thus, qaylūlah without night prayer is like suḥūr without fasting.”

Action for today:
As an employer, kindly encourage a short midday nap (qaylūlah) in the workplace where possible. This simple practice helps restore energy, improve focus and productivity, and support employees, especially during the month of Ramadan, in preparing their bodies and minds for evening worship and night prayers.
