We Have Lost a Humanitarian Icon

It is with a heavy heart and profound sadness that I, on behalf of the Sakinah Medical Outreach family, offer our heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and the Muslim Ummah on the sudden demise of our beloved Dr. Mustapha Alimi, a distinguished member of our Advisory Council.

Dr. Alimi was a shining example of compassion, dedication, and selflessness. His contributions to Sakinah Medical Outreach over the years have been instrumental in advancing our mission and achievements. His wisdom, expertise, and guidance have been invaluable to our organization.

Beyond his remarkable work with Sakinah Medical Outreach, Dr. Alimi’s impact on the Muslim Ummah in Nigeria through the Islamic Medical Association (IMAN) has been immeasurable. His tireless efforts to provide healthcare services to the needy, promote Islamic values, and foster unity among Muslims will never be forgotten.

As we mourn the loss of this humanitarian icon, we take comfort in the words of the Quran:

Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un (To Allah we belong and to Him we shall return)- Quran 2:156

We also recall the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him):

“When a righteous slave dies, Allah says to the angels, ‘Take him to Paradise.'” – Hadith, reported by Abu Dawud

We pray that Allah grants Dr. Alimi a place in Jannah, surrounded by the righteous and the prophets. May his family, friends, and the Ummah at large find comfort and solace in the knowledge that his legacy will continue to inspire and benefit humanity.

Rest in peace, dear Dr. Alimi. Your selfless service to humanity will never be forgotten.

Maa salaam.
