With hearts full of gratitude to Allah, we are overjoyed to share that 14-year-old Hassana Khadijat Abdulmalik is back home in Nigeria.
Our little Hassana, who travelled to India on August 25th for brain tumour treatment at the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences on sponsorship by Sakinah Medical Outreach, touched down safely at Murtala Muhammed International Airport on Friday with her mother, Hajia Zainab Mohammed.
She is home. She is alive. She is hopeful. And it is because of you.
When we met Hassana and her mother after their return, there were tears everywhere, tears of relief, of gratitude, of a hope that had almost been lost.
Hassana herself, with a soft smile and an emotional voice, said: “Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh. My name is Hassana Khadijat Abdulmalik. We returned from India safely. Thank you, Sakinah and may Allah reward you.”
Her mother, Hajia Zainab, could barely find the words. She held our hands, her eyes full and kept repeating her du’a for you.
“Wallahi, I am truly lost for words. I cannot thank you enough… May Allah reward you all abundantly, and may He count you among those He has promised to reward most beautifully. On behalf of myself and my entire family, we sincerely appreciate your efforts, your support and your sacrifices. We will continue to pray for you, Insha Allah. Your effort will never be in vain, Bi idhnillah. You did not waste your money. Rather, you restored life to her and gave hope and happiness to our family,” she said.

When a brain tumour diagnosis came, it was terrifying. When the cost of specialised treatment abroad came, it felt impossible. No family should carry that weight alone.
