The Sakinah Project was established in 2009 by the Muslim Public Affairs Centre (an incorporated organisation advocating for peaceful co-existence within the society) to provide free world-class care and medical treatment to indigent Muslim and non-Muslim members of the society. The project quickly became a credible platform through which individuals shared their expertise, generosity and care for others. It afforded an opportunity for public-spirited individuals to make a difference in the lives of sick people who cannot afford medical bills and edging towards despair. The intervention projects covered several medical treatments for both the young and aged including evacuation to medical facilities overseas.

Over the past 9 years, we managed to expend #69,000,000 (Sixty-nine Million Naira) on 548 beneficiaries who enjoyed world-class medical treatments home and abroad.

The project was managed by volunteer medical practitioners at leading medical centres and teaching hospitals in Nigeria and after a string of successes, it has now transformed into a full-fledged medical outreach organisation incorporated with the Corporate Affairs Commission to deliver high-performance results. As a fully-fledged organization, Sakinah Medical Outreach looks forward to organizing monthly outreaches, intervention programs, health workers training’s, and advocacy programs related to general health issues.
